Our season runs from June 6th - September 7th

Tour Description:

A unique, guided sea-kayaking tour where visitors discover, first hand, the awesome might and beauty of the Bay of Fundy's giant tides as they paddle near the spectacular sea stacks at "The Flowerpot Rocks" of Hopewell Cape.  (Visitors are encouraged to return at low tide, if they’ve not yet done so, to stroll among the exquisite formations that they had paddled by a few hours before!)

In mid August guests may have the rare opportunity to paddle in the midst of tens of thousands of migratory shorebirds as they whirl and swoop in unison by our kayaks. The experience is world class but only available in August when the birds stop briefly to feed and refuel for the final leg of their non-stop journey to South America.

To fully appreciate the magnitude of Fundy’s tides, participants are encouraged to walk on the ocean floor just before or after their kayaking adventure to record on film “ a before and after shot” of their favorite formations.  Guests are free to explore the beach on their own or to join a park interpreter.

Tour Length:

Tours last 1 ½ to 2 hours. Paddling distance is approximately 4 Km.

Experience:

No previous paddling experience is required. Basic instruction is provided.

Difficulty:

This tour's difficulty varies from beginner to intermediate depending on the participants' fitness level and the paddling conditions. Paddling conditions caused by giant tides and prevailing south-west winds at the end of the Bay of Fundy are extremely variable and on most days guests can expect to paddle in waves.  On rare low wind days, paddling conditions are calmer and more suitable for beginners.  NOTE:  We can never predict the weather and wind conditions but guests should make their reservation with the understanding that they will get wet and be paddling in wavy conditions.

Restrictions:

Youth must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Minimum age: 12 years

Equipment:

Participants paddle double sea kayaks, which are stable and well-suited to inexperienced paddlers. Paddles and P.F.D.'s  (life vests) are supplied.

What to Bring:

It is recommended that participants bring a change of clothes (as there is the possibility of getting wet), jacket, hat, sunscreen and sunglasses as well as beach footwear (or your choice of appropriate footwear, knowing it may get wet and/or muddy).  Visitors deciding to use their cameras are rewarded with unforgettable pictures! (Some prefer to use disposable cameras.)

Waiver:

All participants are required to complete a waiver form. Youth (under age 19) must have their waivers signed by a parent or guardian. View Waiver Here
