RESPONSIBLE STEWARDSHIP

To ensure that future cave visitors are able to enjoy a "quality experience", it is essential that we explore in an environmentally responsible manner and observe these basic rules: 

*        Do not disturb the bats during their hibernation time in the caves ( normally October to May).  Loud noises, touching or    the prolonged shining of light will cause them to wake up.

*        Do not eat in the caves. Remove all food and containers from in and around the cave area.

*        Avoid smoking and all forms of fire inside the cave.

*        Keep group sizes small.

*        Graffiti or modern day cave art defaces the natural environment.

*        Do not remove or disturb rock or ice formations from the cave walls and ceiling.

*        Avoid disturbing the delicate plants in and around the cave entrance.

*        Request permission form land owners to visit the caves.
