“FUNDY FOOTPRINTS HIKING” INFORMATION SHEET

Description: The upper Bay of Fundy coastline and the Shepody National Wildlife Area offer some of the most spectacular and scenic landscapes in all of Atlantic Canada. Our walk on the ocean floor explores the hidden secrets of the areas amazing natural and human history. Share with us this spectacular beauty and enjoy some of the most undeveloped and unknown stretches of Fundy’s coastline. Experience the raw power of Fundy’s giant tides.
Tour Length: The tour lasts 3-4 hours.
Experience: No previous experience is required. .
Difficulty: The shorter (4 km / 2.5 mi) hike is rated as Easy, as the primary walking surface is sand and gravel. The longer (7 km /4.4 mi) hike is rated as Moderate and includes walking on slab rocks and sandstone formations that are often slippery with water and seaweed.
Restrictions: Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The longer hike is not suited to small children.
Equipment: Baymount provides daypack, walking sticks, snack, water
What to Bring: It is recommended that participants bring clothing suited for both warm and cool temperatures (shorts / pants; T shirt / long sleeved shirt) fleece or jacket, rain gear, hat, sunscreen and sunglasses. Hiking or running shoes – no sport sandals. Don’t forget your camera.
Waiver: All participants are required to complete a waiver form. Youth under age 19 must have participant waivers signed by a parent or guardian.
Language: English (French may be available if pre-arranged.)
Location: The hike begins at the Mary’s Point Visitor Center on the Mary’s Point loop Road in Harvey Bank. From Moncton/Riverview, follow Rte. 114 south approximately 45 minutes to Riverside-Albert and then onto Rte. 915 for 5 minutes to Mary’s Point. From Alma/ Fundy National Park go north (toward Moncton) for 20 minutes on Rte. 114. to Riverside-Albert and then onto Rte 915 for 5 minutes to Mary’s Point. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the designated start time.

Payment: $59 per adult, $49 per youth (19 or<), $199 per family (parents and their 2 children) plus tax. A credit card is required to hold a reservation A 50% deposit is charged if 24 hrs. notice of cancellation of reservation is not received or if guests with reservations do not arrive for their tour. Payment by MasterCard, Visa, Debit or Cash.
Cancellation: Baymount reserves the right to shorten the tour for reasons of participant safety or inappropriate behaviour that poses a safety hazard or threatens the ecosystem. Cancellations (non-group) are accepted without penalty with 24 hrs. notice (50% of tour cost is charged with less than 24 hrs. notice of cancellation). Guests are encouraged to provide more advanced notice of a change of plans if possible.
Season: Monday, Wednesday & Friday in July & August. Start times vary with the changing tides.
