“KAYAK THE ROCKS”  INFORMATION SHEET

           

 

Tour Length:    Tours last 1 ½ to 2 hours. Paddling distance is approximately 4 Km.

 

Season:             June 7 –September 7, 2008. 

 

Schedule:          Tour are scheduled daily around the high tide times and change each day.

 

Experience:       No previous paddling experience is required. Basic instruction is provided.

 

Difficulty:         This tour requires a low to moderate level of physical activity.

 

Restrictions:     Youth must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Minimum age:12 years of age to make a reservation  

                         (exceptions-calm seas)

                                                                                                               

Equipment:       Participants paddle "Necky" double sea kayaks, stable and well-suited to inexperienced paddlers. Paddles, 

                         P.F.D.'s  (life vests) and spray skirts are supplied. Dry bags are available for cameras.

 

What to Bring:  It is recommended that participants bring a change of clothes (as there is the possibility of getting wet), jacket, 

                         hat, sunscreen and sunglasses as well as beach footwear (or your choice of appropriate foot ware, knowing it 

                         may get wet and/or muddy).  Visitors deciding to use their cameras are rewarded with unforgettable

                         pictures! (Some prefer to use disposable cameras.)

 

Waiver:             All participants are required to complete a waiver form.  Youth participants’ waivers must also be signed by a

                         parent or guardian.

 

Language:         English (French may be available if pre-arranged.)

 

Location:          From Moncton/Riverview, visitors take Rte. 114 south approximately 45 minutes to "Hopewell Rocks" at

                         Hopewell Cape.  If visitors are travelling from Fundy National Park, "Hopewell Rocks Park" is approximately a 

                         45 minute drive north on Rte. 114 (toward Moncton).  Please arrive at the park entrance at least 60

                         minutes prior to tour time to allow time to pay park entrance fees and walk to B.O.A.’s Kayak Building at the

                         “Lower Site”.  It is important to arrive at B.O.A.’s kayak building at least 30 minutes prior to tour time!  

                         Reserved seats may be offered to others if not claimed 15 min. (or more) prior to tour time.

Payment:          From $55.00/adult, $45.00/youth (12-16), $180 per family(parents and their 2 youth), plus tax.   A credit card is

                         required to hold reservations (A 50% fee is charged without a  24hr.  notice of cancellation). Cash, Debit,

                         Master Card, Visa and Travellers Cheques are accepted.

Cancellation:    Baymount reserves the right to cancel or shorten a tour as conditions warrant.  Cancellations from individuals or

                        families are accepted without loss of deposit with 24 hours notice.  Visitors are encouraged to provide more \

                        advanced notice of a change of  plans whenever possible to allow others the opportunity to participate.  (A fee of

                        50% of the tour fee is charged if less than 24 hrs. notice of cancellation is given or if guests do not arrive for their

     reserved tour.)
