About Us

"Making A Greater Difference in The World"

“One Child, One Family, One Community One Tour at a time”

Baymount Outdoor Adventures Inc. is a Canadian owned adventure tour company, owned by Kathy and Richard Faulkner.

Baymount’s goal is to provide our guests with the highest quality vacation experience here in Canada and in Latin America.

Our Mission: Making A Greater Difference in The World – “One Child, One Family, One Community (Village) at a time”

Our Canadian Business

Since our beginning in 1991, we have been committed to providing high quality tours, instructional programs and custom events related to hiking, canoeing/kayaking, caving and mountain biking in The Bay of Fundy UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Our tours have been recognized for their outstanding quality and are recipients of the New Brunswick “Savvy Traveller” and “The Bay of Fundy Recommended Experience” Awards. In the spring of 2011 Baymount Outdoor Adventures was also accepted as a “Charter Membership” of the Bay of Fundy UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.  In 2012 our Kayak The Rocks Tour became a part of the Canadian Tourism Commissions "Signature Experience Collection" that is used to promote Canada in the International Market Place.

Our International Business

The seeds for a Latin American expansion began during a short term mission trip to Guatemala.  Working with Canadian and Guatemalan friends at the rain soaked, muddy construction site during Hurricane Mitch, it became obvious that our efforts were appreciated and had the potential to “transform” the lives of people in an entire Village. This increased understanding of the uniqueness and beauty of the people and country of Guatemala,  sparked the vision of a “winter” tourism business in Central America.  We now offer a series of Adventure, Cultural and Natural History small group tours in Guatemala, Belize, Mexico, Costa Rica and Peru.  Most recently we have developed tours in Utah and further research and development for other destinations is ongoing.

Our Future Plans

“Making A Greater Difference In The World”

“One Child, One Family, One Community, One Tour at a time”

We are grateful for the success that our business has enjoyed over the years and as we move forward our vision is to “Make A Greater Difference in The World” - One Child, One Family, One Community, One Tour at a time”

Participation in any of our Latin American tours will help change lives as Baymount donates 50% of the profits from each Latin American tour to support selected humanitarian and conservation projects.  Here in Canada, we also assist local charities by providing them with the opportunity to utilize our programs to raise funds that will in turn be used to help support their community work.

Baymount staff are also committed to “Making a Difference” as they donate half of their gratuities to sponsor two children from the highland village of Tactic, Guatemala.

Giving Back

How We Use Our (Your) Money

Unlike many tourism businesses, Baymount’s primary motivation is not just for profit. After witnessing first- hand the economic disparity that exists between the West and the Developing World, we are committed to do what we can to actually Make A Difference. We believe offering guests a high quality experience (at prices often below those of competitors), while donating 50% of profits to help others less fortunate, is a formula to change lives.

Will It Work?

Absolutely, Unequivocally YES !!!  We have witnessed the remarkable transformation  of hundreds of lives, of children and families lifted out of abject poverty and provided with opportunities for a brighter future. With 2/3 of the world’s people in need, it is easy to become overwhelmed and wonder if our little bit will really matter, but our work in Guatemala since 1996 has convinced us that each of us can and does make a difference. Like the little boy in The Starfish Story, we cannot help everyone, but we can Make a Difference for Some.
